The Star Choice model is for the satellite dish that needs a 1-5/8 inch OD post.
This Dish will work in the USA but may have a low signal level. In Yuma, AZ the final signal is in the mid 40's this will generate a good picture. Now with the new model a gear and knob have been added to the base to assist in fine tuning the azimuth. In the prior model the dish itself was moved when adjusting the azimuth. This movement of the dish and the low signal value in the southern parts of the USA would cause the dish’s tilt and elevation to be out of there alignment making the signal harder to locate. In fact most of the time only after you moved the dish and then let go would you see a signal. To fine tune a Star Choice signal the signal level must be over 20, with these dishes the signal is too weak to allow you to get a 20 level unless you are very close to the final settings. The PDQ Signal will help you find a signal faster because you will start close to the right settings, now with the final adjustments not needing to touch the dish it should be closer to the normal 5 minute window that happens with satellite dishes that have a stronger signal.

Due to the shipping cost the weights are NOT included. Delsand LLC recommends two 5 pound or heaver dumbbells be used, holders for this type of weight is built into the stand. The weights can be purchased at most stores that carry sporting or exercise equipment.
